88 / 100

2023 Infiniti QX60 – Many consumers who are in the market for a luxury SUV look to brands like Lexus, Audi, BMW, or Cadillac, completely missing out on Infiniti’s lineup of SUVs. The 2023 Infiniti QX60 is an attempt to reestablish Infiniti’s prominence in the luxury SUV market following years of incremental improvements in technology and design.

Cleaner and more appealing exterior appearance, improved interior materials, and a retuned suspension all came as part of last year’s extensive redesign, which also resulted in an improved driving experience. The QX60 retains its big cabin and storage capacity, robust set of standard safety features, and reasonable price despite some minor updates for the current model year.

Unfortunately, there is only one available engine configuration for the QX60, a V6. It provides strong propulsion for the QX60, but rivals like the Lincoln Aviator, Audi Q7, and Volvo XC90 offer additional configuration options, including plug-in hybrids. And while Infiniti’s coupes and sedans are known for their agile handling and dynamics, the QX60 falls short in these areas.

To drive, the Acura MDX and the more expensive Audi Q7 are both superior. The QX60 may not be the absolute best luxury family SUV out there, but it certainly holds its own when viewed as a whole and at its reasonable price point.

Flourishing journey. Storage and passenger space are both plentiful. Luxurious interior finishings and fixtures.

Just one power plant option is available. The second row captain’s chairs are only available in the highest trim level, although they are very comfortable. Considering it’s an athletic brand, it’s rather static.

At 2023 Infiniti QX60 base price of $50,395 (including the destination charge of $1,195), the Pure features 18-inch alloys, a panoramic sunroof, and a motorized liftgate.

Starting at $56,445, the Luxe trim level upgrades the standard model with 20-inch wheels, roof rails, auto-dimming side mirrors, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, and a power-adjustable steering wheel.

Chrome accents, improved 20-inch wheels, and a hands-free liftgate are just some of the features included with the Sensory, which starts at $59,795. The Autograph version includes premium leather upholstery, heated captain’s chairs in the second row, a detachable center console, and seven additional USB ports for a price of $63,795.

Engine and Performance

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 is equipped with a 295-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine and 270 lb-ft of torque, mated to a nine-speed automated transmission.

All models come equipped with front-wheel drive and can be upgraded to rear-wheel drive if desired. The QX60’s V6 engine has sufficient low-end torque to propel the vehicle quickly, and the transmission makes seamless, precisely timed shifts.

Due to its comfortable suspension, the QX60 is neither quick nor nimble. The Acura MDX is more fun to drive, but the Lincoln Aviator has more standard power and can hit like a truck with its nearly 500 hp hybrid engine.

Fuel Efficiency

The EPA predicts the 2023 Infiniti QX60’s fuel economy will be 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive, and 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway with all-wheel drive.

Similar fuel economy is achieved by the plug-in hybrid versions of the Acura MDX and Lincoln Aviator, with the Lincoln offering an extra 20 electric miles before the gas engine is engaged. Comparing the QX60 and the non-hybrid Aviator, the QX60 has somewhat better gas mileage.

One of the most efficient hybrids is the [Volvo XC90] (/volvo/xc90/), which achieves 22/28 mpg in the city/highway.

The base configuration of the Infiniti QX60 has seven seats, but the upper-level Autograph model adds captain’s chairs to the second row. Luxurious leather upholstery adorns the seats within.

Nissan’s “zero gravity” technology is included into the power-adjustable front seats, relieving pressure on key muscle and spinal nerve receptors to improve comfort. The third child can sit comfortably on the second row bench because it is not quite as high.

Besides the Autograph, the bench is standard equipment in all other trim levels. The Autograph’s captain’s chairs are a nice feature, but they aren’t an option on the base model. 2023 Infiniti QX60 not difficult to get to the third row, and it has enough space for two adults, though they may feel cramped on longer flights.

QX60s have 14.5 cubic feet of storage space behind the third row. When the second row is folded down, there is 41.6 cubic feet of space available, and when both rows are folded down, there is 75.4 cubic feet. The space under the floorboards behind the third row is particularly convenient.

2023 Infiniti QX60 Interior

The Acura MDX leans toward the sportier side with its tightly bolstered seats, while the Lincoln Aviator and [Volvo XC90] (/volvo/xc90/) offer comparably plush cabin materials and elegant design.

Infotainment and Connectivity

A 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, nine speakers, six USB outlets, and wireless charging are standard on the 2023 Infiniti QX60.

Optional extras include navigation and a Bose sound system with 17 speakers. In particular, navigating is a breeze on the huge, touch-friendly display.

The Infiniti has an available technology package that is on par with that of its competitors. Although the Acura MDX’s display and audio system are both large, the display is not touch-screen enabled. While the Lincoln Aviator’s sound quality is comparable to that of the Infiniti, the Infiniti’s touchscreen is significantly larger.

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 has received the highest possible grade from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), that of Top Safety Pick+.

The QX60 has not yet been given an overall rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but it has received four out of five stars for frontal crash protection and five out of five stars for side impact prevention.

Automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert with automatic rear braking are just some of the standard safety features.

Front parking sensors, a blind-spot monitor, lane departure warnings, a 360-degree camera system with moving object identification, and those features are all up for grabs.

2023 Infiniti QX60 Price

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 automatically stands out, and rightfully so, due to the scarcity of premium midsize three-row SUVs. It’s got all the makings of a luxurious trip thanks to its stylish design, plush upholstery, high-quality fixtures, and spacious cabin. It’s priced lower than competitors like the Lexus, BMW, and Audi since it doesn’t have the same prestige or level of craftsmanship.

Not as sporty as rivals like the Acura MDX, the QX60 makes up for it with a more elegant inside. The Lincoln Aviator, which is more expensive, is likewise plush, attractive, and provides a rechargeable hybrid alternative.

Despite having the highest price tag in this compact group, the [Volvo XC90] (/volvo/xc90/) stands out for its sophisticated interior and modern safety features.
