2021 Subaru Ascent – What’s, going on youtube so for decades, american families have been flocking to the outback, but for many families they needed something a little bit bigger and something with a third row that’s, where this subaru ascent came in and now For the 2021 model year, it is getting some new standard features to make it an even more appealing product.

What You Have to Get From 2021 Subaru Ascent
So what you’ll notice up in the front in terms of the styling is just a little bit more squared off grill. It’s, a little bit larger as well, and then in the middle. We have a gray finish with a silver outline now over here with your headlights.
This is the full led setup and that’s. The 2021 change. I want to point out that’s, because you now have these led headlights which have adaptive abilities by the way and they’re standard across every single model, including the base models which used to not have them now. Underneath of that, you’re, going to also find led fog lights and that’s on the top two trim locks now down here at your wheels. I am a big fan of this design. This is your 20 inch gray. Contrast finished alloy.
It is standard on both the limited and the touring trim levels. While, if you go for one of the lower trims, they’re, both going to have 18 inch alloys with a different design and then moving on up here to our mirrors, as you can see, we do have the led turn signal indicator.
You will find a blind spot monitoring system as well on all, but the very base model. Now, if you go for the touring trim level, that’s, going to give you a satin silver finish up top as well as power, folding abilities, and then this specific example has the optional exterior, auto dimming.
So here, at the side and rear of the 2021 Subaru Ascent is where you’re, going to notice the size the most, because i think this vehicle looks pretty substantial, especially here in the rear and side design. It looks quite large and that’s, a good thing for this class of vehicle. Now, as far as the rear itself, i do want to talk about some of the individual elements.
The tail lights are going to be partially led. The brake light is led, the rest is going to be incandescent, and i’m, pleasantly surprised that all of the ascents are going to include this nice piece of chrome, going between the tail lights then dropping down.
Centering and auto high beams are standard in person. I have to say i really like the exterior design of this ascent limited, especially in this black color, but i know all of your family is going to be spending time on the inside. So let’s check that out. First, before we take it out in a spin so walking up to the 2021 Subaru Ascent, you will find the smart entry system standard on the limited trim and above.
It does have the typical subaru kifa and to get inside the vehicle itself just grab behind the Handle since there is a sensor now as far as the cabin itself is concerned, there’s, not any huge upgrades for 2021, but i will point out a couple: little changes as we go throughout the cabin now.
Let’s, go ahead and talk about your interior, color and material options. So it’s. Pretty simple! You’re just going to have cloth seating on your base and premium trim levels with your choice of ebony or warm ivory. Colors going for the limited, gets you leather seating like you see here, and it is in those same two colors and then. Finally, if you go for the fully loaded touring that’s, where you get the exclusive java brown color scheme and the exclusive wood grain accents now turning over here to your door trim, it is very nicely finished.
These are 10-way power, adjusting seats with two-way lumbar support that’s, going to be standard on your top two trims eight-way power on the premium manual on the base model, and we do also have a manual thigh extension now, like i already mentioned, this, Is real leather uh definitely has a nice feel to it.
I’ve, always been a fan of the way that 2021 Subaru Ascent seats look and the way that they feel – and this is no exception with the color contrast, stitching detail and the perforation. Now, as far as your cabin materials are concerned, there are no changes for 2021, so we’ll start out at our upper dash here. This is all going to be a soft touch, plastic and off on this side.
This does a match with what’s on the door trim and is color contrast to the rest of the interior, which i definitely like and as far as your lower areas, these are going to be hard touch, but everything does fit together very nicely. Now, to start up the 2021 Subaru Ascent on limited and touring just press the button.
So as far as the gauges themselves uh, this is pretty much the typical 2021 Subaru Ascent setup. It is mostly analog, but we do have a 4.2 inch multi-function display in the middle, and you can cycle through a lot of different types of information.
Now below that you’re, going to find three stage. Heated seats that’s, going to be standard on all, but the very base model and you’ll, also get three stage: ventilation if you go for the fully loaded touring, all right. So now that brings us up here to our audio system. So on this model we have got the 792 watt 14 speaker harman kardon sound system.
So now we are here at our main infotainment system. So what you’re looking at is the eight inch display. This is going to be standard on all, but the very base model and that base model will come with a six and a half inch display. Now this has the latest version of the starlink infotainment system, but of course, obviously it is smaller than what you see on the outback and the new legacy with that gigantic display that takes up the whole center area.
You’re, going to come in at 39, inches of rear, legroom and 40 inches of rear headroom. So, as far as how that compares to the competition that’s right in line with that of the new toyota highlander, as well as the honda pilot and behind, drew seating position, i have, i would say, seven to eight inches of rear legroom. My feet can easily set up underneath the seat, definitely a lot of comfort and then, as far as these captains chairs, these are going to be a no-cost option on the premium trim and up – and i do really like this setup now.
As far as your features all, but the very base model are going to get their own climate controls and then down below that, you will also find two-stage heated rear seats that’s, going to be on the limited and touring trims, then drop being Further down, we have what i assume would have been a power outlet on the top end touring, but it’s, not on this limited and then off to the side.
So there was our acceleration up to 60 miles per hour, so with the 2021 Subaru Ascent, the thing that’s different from the competition, as you may or may not know, is that this uses a four cylinder engine. So this has got the two and a half liter turbo charged boxer. Four cylinder 260 horsepower 277 pound feet of torque, which is roughly in line with most of the competition, even the ones that use v6 engines yeah and just getting up to 60 there.
It’s, definitely not going to be like super duper, powerful or anything in this big of a vehicle that engine, but it definitely is adequate. I would say one of the things i’m. Also noticing accelerating up is the shift simulation. It has a really nice simulation for this continuously variable transmission. So i i definitely like that that’s on board, you have eight simulated gears with the 2021 Subaru Ascent and you can’t even do some manual shifting with the paddles.
If you want to um, but i like having more options, the merrier – and this definitely especially upon that – was like kind of a middle ground acceleration with the way that it varies, the rpms. You know it feels like a traditional automatic. So i think a lot of people are going to appreciate that you know something more similar to what they’re used to yeah and as far as other things to mention you are gonna have of course, standard symmetrical all-wheel drive with this 2021 Subaru Ascent.
Stop system which you know some people, like some people, don’t like, but if you’re in the don’t like category it’s, definitely a plus that the 2021 Subaru Ascent does not yet have an auto Start stop system for 2021 and then, as far as the fuel economy uh, that does mean you’re, not going to save fuel sitting still, but the premium trims are going to be rated at 21 city 27, highway 23 combined.
And then, if you go with the limited or the touring, i guess their larger wheels deduct a little bit on the fuel economy. So that’s down to 22 combined, and it is worth noting that that’s around the same as what you’re, going to get out of the competitive set out of their v6 engines with this four-cylinder all right.
How much the 2021 Subaru Ascent Price?
The base 2021 Subaru Ascent is $32.000, premium $34,795, limited $39,595 and touring $45,445 and it’s worth knowing for 2021. That’s about a 300 increase. Now, like i mentioned just a second ago, this one as equipped, has pretty much every option that you can get on the limited um and then add the destination charge of 1050.
