2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 – So, as you know, AMG is Mercedes. Longtime performance division, but rarely do they create their own cars. But this right here this is one of those instances with this absolutely gorgeous 2020 AMG GT four-door. So we won’t waste any more time talking before we dig into one of the finest sedans money can buy okay, so the good thing about this four-door version is that it shares a lot of the same styling with the really sexy, coupé and Cabriolet models.

What You Have to Get From 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53
You have a very similar look with that signature, AMG grille with the vertical bars now down below you have a lot of open space here to you know, make sure you cool down the powertrain and if you have the AMG Black Edition, that’s, Where you’ll get this black splitter door down here, which is a nice little subtle detail, and then, as far as your headlights, of course, they are going to be fully LED and they have a really cool design with a lot of different elements.
Going on in here, including even a little carbon-fiber accent inside so they’re, really kind of a piece of artwork to look at and then jumping down here to the wheels. This is certainly one of the elements that really adds to the sex appeal of this package and that’s.
These 20 inch Forge cross spoke alloys. They’re, absolutely massive, really fill out these wheel wells really well, and they just look fantastic. Now, of course, you’ve got a lot of other selections, starting at a 19 inch alloy and also some 20 inch alloys. It’s also, of course, very important to mention the brakes, which are gigantic six piston fourteen point two inch AMG high-performance brakes and here on the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 . They are finished in the gray caliper, but you can also get a red caliper.
If you go for the 63 and then jumping up here to your mirrors, of course, they’ve got all of the features you would expect for a car over a hundred thousand dollars, including auto dimming power, folding and blind spot monitoring, plus with the AMG black package.
That’s, where you’ll, get the black Mir caps as well as the black trim, all around the side. Now here at the side of the AMG GT, 4-door. Honestly, from my personal opinion, I think this is where it looks the sexiest and from this rear, 3/4 single.
This just looks absolutely phenomenal and based off of the people that just kind of have been walking by this attracts a ton of attention and it’s because of the sloped back design. It really does look like a coupe, even though this does have four doors, and it has a very sporty look now.
What you’re, probably noticing, is probably the biggest feature here at the rear. Is this power deploying rear spoiler? We actually do have it popped up right now here in park, that’s because it’s in dynamic mode.
However, it does automatically deploy at 50 miles an hour when driving and then as far as going down, we do have fully LED taillights below that and then at the bottom. Here we do have a quad exhaust, which is a difference from the regular 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53, coupé and Cabriolet that only have dual exhaust and I have to say this exhaust sounds absolutely phenomenal now, as far as your safety systems are concerned, for this AMG GT in case You’re driving just a little bit too fast.
You are gonna, have standard Ford emergency braking as well as Auto high beam headlights. Now, as far as your really advanced safety systems, those are in the drivers assistance package and that’s, going to throw an adaptive cruise lane-keeping assist as well as semi-autonomous driving systems like active distance, syste Stronach well anyway.

Only, however, I’m sure just about every single person is going to choose to get at least the fine nappa leather, and that comes in black or magma gray. Now there is another tier called exclusive nappa leather and that unlocks several more colors, including Auburn, red pepper, saddle, brown and macchiato beige.
Now turning over here to your door trim. Of course it is very nicely finished. You have soft leather all through the armrest, as well as above it and a light. Colored color contrast, stitching detail on this specific example.

As you can see, it does have a special 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 design that really focuses on performance.
It is nicely felt lined as well, and we’ll go ahead and get out our coupons because there’s, two ways to get a car like this. You either make a lot of money or save a lot of money. So if you’re, the saving kind you can’t fit your coupons in there no problem. Now there is a little bit more storage up in the front here when we slide that back you have got your two cupholders a nice little slot here to stick your phone, which does have wireless phone charging, and then we also have a USB port and a 12 volt outlet.
Now, one of the big differences about this 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 door from the other Mercedes models that we actually lose. The common mounted shifter that’s typical and we go to a special electronic shifter that’s down here on the dashboard. Now I really like on the top of it, you do have the AMG seal and for Drive you’re, just gonna pull back to the D. Of course you have standard, really nice full metal, paddle shifters, and then we go into reverse.
Of course, you’re just going to press the P right there, so this console here this looks very similar to the coupé and Cabriolet version, but 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 is a little bit of a difference with the four-door sedan and that’s, that These buttons here these are actually like digital buttons, so you press down on them and actually switches between different things for your drive mode.
Of course. This is the reason why you go for the four-door models, because you actually have room for four adults in this vehicle now getting back here I have to say, though this is actually a really quite nice for your seat. You do get that sense of specialness back here, since you do have like these bucket seats. It’s, pretty much like being in the front seat of a coupe. There really have big side bolsters and it really just has a special vibe that you’re, not going to get from any other Mercedes sedan.
Now, as far as your feature set is concerned, you do have standard vents back here. You’re, not gonna. Have your own climate controls, however, below that you do have a household style outlet, as well as a charging USB port, a 12-volt outlet and then, in addition, in addition to that, this middle seat is just kind of taken up with you.
Have your cupholders a little storage cubby right here as well as two more charging USBs and you can’t, also get like an executive package that gives you a touchscreen and more features back here, along with heated rear seats and then, as far as Your legroom we don’t, have a specific measurement about behind rusev sitting position.
I have probably five or six inches of rear legroom, so certainly not going to be an issue in terms of space back here now. One of the coolest things about this 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 is that as far as the trunk is, concern actually opens like a hatchback. So you’re gonna have quite a bit of space, but before we get back there you do have a standard, hands-free power one. So just kick your foot under the bumper and it does open right up now once again, mercedes.
Actually hasn’t, measured how much space is back here, so I just have to give it a guess to me. It looks roughly like about 20 to 25 cubic feet of space, which is definitely a lot, especially for a 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 like this. This is basically like a supercar and as far as how they finished it back here along the floor, we do have a nice carpeting and then, if we lift it up, you are gonna find a tiny bit of extra space. However, I don’t, see a spare tire, so I don’t know if that’s included on this model.
In addition to that, you do have a giant metal, speaker grille here on the left side and a 12-volt power outlet and a car who hover up top so definitely more practical than you would expect out of a sports vehicle like this. Now, in terms of your passenger seat is going to be these same adjustments as a driver, including the three person memory and massaging and then, as far as your glove box is concerned, it is leather wrapped on the outside and then this back portion is nicely felt.
Lined as far as the coupons see, if we can fit any back here, it’s a little narrow, so you have to fold up the edges, but you can fit a few in here. I don’t know how many you’re, going to need, if you have a 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 , but you can’t fit a few and then up top.
We have a mirror and LED light, and it does also detach as well as extend Wow, certainly very quick off the line Wow. Yes, she definitely scoots. Now, of course, as you guys know at this point, this is the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 .
So this is the entry-level model of the GT, AMG lineup, and there any much entry-level about it. Now it does have a really unique powertrain and it is very different from the 63 model that we did drive last year. So what this is is a 3 liter turbo inline 6-cylinder, and it also is a mild hybrid with a system called EQ boost, and that does add some power. So what you’re, looking at all in all, is going to be 429 horsepower.
384 pounds of torque and then the EQ boost system itself that actually adds an additional 21 24 hours. What it stated – and you can kind of see it here in the gauges, see as we take off here Wow. You know – and I have to say here you know first taking off like through mentioned. We did drive the sixty-three model last year, so we’ve, been in the AMG 63, and that has a very distinct you know, hotrod feel, and but when you get in behind the wheel of this, it definitely does not sound anything similar to that.
So what I’m noticing, as far as the sound is concerned, is it sounds like a really really good, like almost like Porsche type of engine. You know this is probably really slated being like a Porsche Panamera a competitor, and that I really like the sound of this engine. I don’t. Think you’re really gonna have any issues with it. It’s. Just kind of two different missions there you know like the 63 is the hot rod, and this is kind of just yeah. Really it’s, certainly different, but not bad yeah, Oh seriously, scene 4.
4 of us feels even faster than that, so guys. So here here’s, the deal we did basically a whole test-drive of this car and we had hi. This is really special, somehow neither a camera not even just one, maybe if there was one and be okay but neither camera recorded at all. So we’re back at if you’re wondering why there’s no connecting here. We are just basically starting over, but you know in a car like this: it’s. Okay, yeah it’s, not gonna. Be too sad. I don’t guess so let’s.
Get back into the swing of things talking about the 9 speed transmission yeah, so I’m exactly the same one. That said that Gigi’s 63. Actually it’s a little bit different, but it’s. Not really lower performance per se, it is absolutely fantastic, really snaps off the shifts of both in automatic mode and manual mode yep, and it is paired to Mercedes a special 4matic plus all-wheel drive system, and so this is not just the regular mercedes all-wheel drive.
It sounds amazing craziness as just pets. You know, and as with every video that we’ve been doing recently, we do want to discuss the hairball in the slam dunk. Now we talked about this. Of course, the the slam dunk is just going to be the performance of this. You know 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 model, you know like we mentioned, we didn’t really know we drove the 63 and you know we didn’t really know what to expect with that. If that you know will change the overall experience of the AMG GT and I’m happy to say that it definitely doesn’t now.
As far as your air ball, you know, honestly, with a vehicle like this. It’s, so difficult to come up with something to not like about it. So we’re gonna be a little bit petty and say that this system is the older command style system and honestly for a vehicle that just came out last year. I don’t really understand why it’s. Nothing newest MBU ex with the Augmented navigation system. You know there’s, a few features that are just better with that MBU in bu exes, none that are missing from this AMG GT.
Very impressed with this 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 model, as it has quite a bit of a benefit over these 63s, so you’re gonna come in at 19 City 24, Highway 21 combined, which is over 4 mpg better than the 63 equivalent and honestly, you’re not getting that much extra power or anything like that with those models, and you’re, getting quite a bit less fuel economy, so this is definitely very impressive.
For you know this type of performance I did mention earlier. This is a mild hybrid, so you may have noticed, as we came to a stop here, that the engine actually shuts off in advance. While you’re still moving, you know in that respect, it is very similar to the mod hybrid system we’ve, seen in the G le yeah, you know so it really powers the advanced, auto start/stop system very well.
It makes this one of the best auto start-stop systems in the entire business because it can shut down. While you’re moving, you really never feel it and, of course the EQ boost has those benefits as well on performance. So, to conclude here, what really is not to like about this car? I mean it starts on the outside and it moves to the inside and the driving dynamics this car. Is it’s just so sexy I mean it is sexy, high-performance sports sedan and it gets so much attention.
I mean it really is checking off boxes. Here I can’t really think of anything. This doesn’t check off it, and I’m, especially impressed with this 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 version, because you have old and you’re saving a lot of money over the 63, and you know.
How much the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 Price?
I think it could be a little secret, but I don’t think anyone’s gonna notice. You know. So if I had this type of money, this would be at the top of my shopping list, all righty. So the final thing that we need to talk about here in this video is the price and, as you would assume you know, this AMG model is not going to come cheap.
So the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 , which is what we have today, is gonna start at ninety nine thousand nine fifty! So if you’re looking for a positive, it is under a hundred grand and then, if you want to go for these sixty three, that’s, one forty to fifty or these 63s for one sixty one. Two now we do also have quite a few options.
